Neuromuscular Therapy (NMT)

Neuromuscular Therapy (NMT) is highly effective for many types of chronic or acute pain.

NMT is a specialized form of massage therapy that combines the knowledge of biomechanics (the way we move) and the physiology of the nervous system, and how they affect the muscular and skeletal systems.

NMT uses a combination of stretching, soft tissue manipulation, and various other techniques to release muscles, restore function and balance the central nervous system. Stabilizing low levels of neurological activity allows muscles to reset, and thereby diminishes pain, improving circulation and joint movement. NMT frees the body of pain and swelling and increases range of motion.

Highly Effective for Chronic and Acute Pain

By addressing posture, biomechanics, tight and injured soft tissue, and trigger points (areas in the muscle that refer pain to other parts of the body), NMT releases pain patterns while realigning the body so that the tissues and bones can work together with greater ease.

NMT is effective in the treatment of headaches, neck, shoulder, back, knee, leg, foot, and hand pain; sciatica, whiplash, and tendonitis. It is a powerful healing technique for those suffering from carpal tunnel syndrome, TMJ, dizziness, fibromyalgia, and more. Anyone who struggles with chronic pain can benefit from NMT.

The goal is to restore balance and alignment with gravity so that we may reduce the abnormal stresses that are the source of the pain. Once those stresses are released, the pain should subside.

As a methodology, NMT not only addresses the symptoms of pain, it also gets to the root causes, so it is an effective preventive measure.
